高齢者の死因上位である肺炎、誤嚥性肺炎、窒息は嚥下障害と関連があり、誤嚥により致命的な影響を受ける可能性が高い。施設入所者は介護職の支援を受けて生活している重度要介護者であり、誤嚥防止には介護職による誤嚥兆候や状態変化の早期発見が重要である。これまでの我々の研究では、施設入所高齢者の誤嚥防止強化には、誤嚥の早期発見と予防対応につながる介護職の観察強化が必須であること、介護職に向けた支援の必要性が示された。この支援には介護職の観察内容を客観的視点から評価し、現状の不足点を補足する必要があることが示唆された。特に、介護職が「自分だけでは食事援助時の誤嚥リスクに気付けない」と感じていること、観察は行っているが自分が何を観察しているのかは具体的に回答できないと認識している点には早急な対策が必要である。誤嚥防止のために介護職に必要な効果的な食事観察のスキルを強化するには、介護職の観察スキルがどのようなものかを具体化・言語化して介護職の観察の実態をを客観的に評価し、現在は自覚的には行われていない行動についても明らかにする必要がある。アイトラッキング装置を用いて食事支援時の介護職の観察視点と認識プロセスを客観的・定量的に明らかにすることを目的とし、本年度は実験用動画作成のための打ち合わせ、素材収集に向けた準備を行った。ひとつの動画内で注視と瞥見を測定する方法について検討した。しかし、当初予定していた実験動画の完成には至っていない。
