22年度前半は、統計資料、文献などから調査対象地域の産業、歴史について情報収集を行ったほか、人口動態や地域住民の生活状況、課題などの把握をおこなった。その後調査対象地域の社会福祉協議会の協力を得て、2名の現役民生委員に対するパイロットインタビューを実施した。その後パイロットインタビューの内容をもとに、インタビュー方法、調査項目について整理、修正を行い、22年度後半から本調査を開始した。22年度後半は調査の趣旨説明、調査協力者の募集に注力し、4名の民生委員からインタビュー調査の協力を得た。インタビューは自宅や職場、社会福祉協議会等で実施した。インタビューでは民生委員活動と生活・仕事などの両立のための取り組みや課題、周囲のサポートについて話を聞いた。また民生委員や地域関係者が集まる会合への参加、担当エリアの地域踏査、民生委員の職場の見学、関係者や家族などからも民生委員活動や仕事や家事等との両立についての取り組みや課題についての情報収集を行った。これまでの調査から民生委員が仕事やほかの地域活動、家事などを調整しながら活動を行っていること、また活動には家族や職場の直接的、間接的なサポートがあることが確認された。23年度は調査協力者を募るための活動を継続しながら、引き続き現役民生委員に対するインタビュー調査等を行い、学会発表、論文化の準備を進める。また23年度以降実施する、民生委員の家族に対する調査のための協力者も募る予定である。
