本研究の目的は、いかなる要因が支援者と社会的養護経験者との繋がりの維持に寄与しているのかを明らかにすることである。2022年度は、研究目的を達成するための３つの柱のうち、１つ目の柱である「社会的養護経験者の生活状況・繋がり状況を明らかにする」ことを目指してアンケート調査を実施した。本調査は、A県内の児童養護施設等の支援者を回答者とし、2017年4月～2022年3月の過去5年間に15歳以上で退所等（施設養護や家庭養護から措置等解除）した者を対象としており、施設および里親・ファミリーホームの社会的養護経験者449ケースを回収した。さらに、2つ目の柱「アフターケアの現状を明らかにする」ことを目指し、同県内の支援者を対象としたアンケート調査を実施した。本調査は、施設養護及び家庭養護の支援者によるアフターケアの実施状況を捉えることを目的としており、児童養護施設および児童心理治療施設23か所、および里親・ファミリーホーム21世帯の支援者より調査票を回収した。また、3つ目の柱「社会的養護経験者との繋がりの維持に関連する要因の分析」についても、回収時期が早かった児童養護施設等退所者についてのデータを基にした要因分析を予定より早く進めることができ、発表準備も順調に進行している。社会的養護経験者本人および支援者へのインタビュー調査の準備も並行して計画通り、進めている。
