项目摘要

2022年度は、1907年～1917年の東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科の入学者選抜試験について、高等学校長会議の決議事項との関係や高等学校との試験実施状況の比較をとりまとめ、前半（1907年～1912年）の部分を論文として発表した。これは、1918年～1930年における北海道帝国大学予科の入学者選抜試験を主な対象とする本研究課題の前提をなすものである。東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科と高等学校は同程度の教育階梯にあたるが、1907年実施の入学試験では、試験日程や科目等の実施内容に関連性は認められない。それは、札幌農学校が東北帝国大学農科大学に昇格する旨の勅令（勅令第236号、1907年6月22日公布）が公布される以前から入学試験の準備を進める必要があったためであり、その旨を佐藤昌介（札幌農学校校長）が文部大臣宛てに稟請していたことを確かめた。1908年以降、東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科は高等学校長会議に参加するようになる。会議の入学試験に関する決議はほとんどが高等学校のみに対するものであったが、1908年開催の会議の決議事項には、東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科の入学試験科目と配点に関して記述がみられた。1909年以降開催の会議では、入学試験の日程について高等学校より先とすることが決議されており、『官報』掲載の生徒募集広告に示された日程はその通りになっていた。試験科目を調査すると、東北帝国大学大学予科はほぼ高等学校に準拠していた。また、試験合格の最低点数を満点の4分の1と定めた決議に基づいて、東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科が合格決定をしていたことを確かめた。上記の研究により、「大学令」（勅令第388号、1918年12月6日）により帝国大学予科が高等学校と程度を同じくすると規定される以前における、東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科の位置づけの一端を明らかにしたといえる。
