本基盤研究は、本来昨年度までで終了するはずの基盤研究「明治期における文部省実業教育施策の推移と小学校理科の誕生」（18K02311）の後継の研究として位置付くものである。しかしながら、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大に伴う「自粛措置」のために、基盤研究「明治期における文部省実業教育施策の推移と小学校理科の誕生」では必要な調査出張が何度もキャンセルを余儀なくされた。そこで、基盤研究「明治期における文部省実業教育施策の推移と小学校理科の誕生」を一年延長して、その科研費で2022年度の調査出張を賄ってきた。その結果、本基盤研究では2023年度からの研究を保障するためのノートパソコンを購入するにとどまった。今後は、新型コロナウイルス感染症が終息してくることが期待されるので、本基盤研究申請時に計画した全国悉皆調査を計画的に行っていきたいと考えている。2023年度は、東北地方、中国地方、九州等への調査出張を計画している。
