戦後50年以上が経過して戦争体験者が減少する2000年代は、平和教育が過渡期を迎えたと言われる。過渡期の平和教育を停滞させることなく再構築するには、学術的研究のサポートが必要である。2000年代以降の平和教育研究の動向を明らかにするために、発行年が2000年から2022年までで、「平和教育」で検索される論文・書籍についてレビューを行った。レビューにおいては、以下の平和教育研究課題についての研究成果を検討した。①子どもの発達段階に応じたカリキュラム開発、②戦争記憶の再活性化、③戦争の悲惨さを子どもに伝える方法、④平和構築者の育成、⑤平和で公正な社会・国際関係の構築、⑥実証検証を通じた研究などである。一方で、急変する社会変革に対応した研究成果を検証する。グローバル化における比較教育研究、情報化に対応した研究、地域社会と連携した研究などの研究成果もレビューの対象とした。次に、戦争体験継承に有効とされる「戦争デジタル情報」の分析枠組を案出した。「戦争デジタル情報」は定義として、戦争を体験した人々が生存されなくなる過渡期に、戦後世代が、平和を考え守り抜くために参考となる①戦争の記録（戦争当時の資料や映像）や、②戦争証言アーカイブであり、インターネット上に作られたデジタル情報のことを指す。この「戦争記憶のアーカイブ」とは、戦争証言を収録したアーカイブであり、戦争体験者達が戦争体験について語った生の声を集めた資料庫である。戦争デジタル情報の分析指標として、9項目を取り出した。それは、開設時期、掲載主体、情報種類、証言種類、証言方法、体験証言数、証言配置（分類法）、動画証言収録時期、開設目的、等である。戦争体験証言動画を多く掲載しているのは、「NHK戦争証言アーカイブス」1334件（2023.5.6現在）、「広島平和記念資料館」655件、「沖縄県平和祈念資料館」102件、等である。
