イタリアのレッジョ・エミリア・アプローチの哲学を構造化し実践を特徴づけていることの一つが、幼児学校に配置されている教育学を専攻したペダゴジスタと芸術を専攻したアトリエリスタの存在である。本研究では、子どもの音楽表現の探索にアトリエリスタがどのような影響を与えているのか、特に、音楽を専攻したアトリエリスタと子どもの表現の関係性に着目し、その視点と手法の教育的意義を明らかにすることを目指している。令和４年度は、文献研究のほか、日本においてレッジョ・エミリア・インスパイアドの実践的な取り組みを行っている高松市の芸術士派遣事業の視察、フィールドでの活動の観察のほか、芸術士へのインタビュー調査を実施してきた。その中で、子どもの音楽表現の探索を推進する条件を検討した結果、①空間のアートであるダンスなどの身体表現と結びつけて感じ取れるものであること、②自分が関わることで発生するモノや楽器の音であること、③所属する文化のコミュニティで触れる音・音楽であること、④身近に音・音楽の再現を可能にさせる媒体があること、⑤日常の経験の繰り返しと適量の変化から生まれてくるものであることなどの特徴が浮かび上がっている。フィールド観察では、芸術士の存在が子どもの作る歌のフレーズを瞬発的に再現する媒体として機能していた。一方、実践上の課題として、芸術士派遣を受ける幼児教育施設において、芸術士は単発的に子どもに何か面白い活動をやらせてくれる人として期待されている状況も見られる中、子どものやりたいことをサポートするという目的のために保育者と一緒にドキュメンテーションの内容を検討して次のプロジェクトに繋げたり、音・音楽という素材を用いた活動の実施条件や環境について十分に討議したりできないことも多いという現実も見えてきた。
