本年度は唱歌教育が地方において普及していく過程を明らかにするための端緒として、明治15年に各府県より開発教授法習得のため東京師範学校へ派遣された小学師範学科取調員（以下、「取調員」とする。）と、同年開催された学事諮問会の資料収集および整理を行った。具体的には、東京芸術大学附属図書館所蔵の音楽取調掛の「文書綴」のうち、東京師範学校と音楽取調掛、学事諮問会に関する史料を抽出し、東京師範学校や音楽取調掛での取調員の学習内容やカリキュラム、音楽取調掛と文部省や取調員の派出府県との往復文書、地方で先行する唱歌教育への関与の事例、学事諮問会における各府県学務委員の音楽取調掛参観時の記録や取調員の活動など、各項目別に分類し、解読を行った。また、東京師範学校の同窓会誌『東京茗渓会雑誌』や各府県師範学校の沿革史における取調員の関連記事を抽出するとともに、取調員の派出府県（岩手、宮城、福島、山梨、京都、岡山、広島、山口、高知、福岡）の公立図書館、文書館、資料館にて各取調員の閲歴に関する資料収集を行った。これらの資料に基づいて、地方唱歌教育の始まりにおける取調員の位置づけを検討し、これまでの成果と今後の見通しを日本音楽教育学会第53回大会にて発表（「音楽取調掛と地方における唱歌教育の萌芽」）し、意見を求めた。明治16年に東京師範学校、音楽取調掛での学習を終え、帰県した取調員は各地の師範教育に携わるが、地方の唱歌教育の普及においてどのような役割を果たしたのか、引き続き各資料の分析を通して検討する。
