本研究では，学齢聴覚障害児の日本語読み能力の評価を実施し，対象児へのフィードバックを行うと共に，日本語読み能力向上と学力向上に向けた指導プログラムの開発・実践・検証を行うことが目的である。実際に指導に当たる特別支援学校の教員との協働により，これまでのボトムアップによる読みだけではない新たな指導プログラムの開発と令和の日本型学校教育の実現に向けた学びの個別最適化が必要である。そのため，学齢聴覚障害児のCARDによる日本語読み能力の評価を基に，エビデンスに基づいた日本語読み能力向上への指導の展開が必要であり，こうした理論と実践の往還の具現化のために，協力が得られた特別支援学校(聴覚障害者)を対象に，授業づくりを含めた実践研究を行う。初年度は，特別支援学校(聴覚障害)の教員との協働による日本語読み能力向上と学力向上のための指導プログラムの開発・授業改善の実践・検証のために，全国の特別支援学校(聴覚障害)で研究協力の得られた2校を対象に，読み能力評価として包括的領域別読み能力検査：CARDと学習到達度評価として標準学力検査(NRT)による評価を実施した。現在，検査の採点作業と結果の分析作業を行っている。これらの結果を協力校へフィードバックし，それを基にした自立活動や教科の授業における読み能力を向上する授業づくり・主体的・対話的な深い学びと個別・最適化の学びに向けた授業改善野ためのICTを活用したオンラインによる遠隔授業研究を，2年目以降に実施する。
