本研究は院外心停止に対する一般市民による心肺蘇生術の実施率の向上を目指すことを目的としている。まず当該研究施設である久留米大学の医に関する倫理委員会に研究の審査を受け承認を得た。我々は心肺蘇生教育を実施する対象として久留米市内全域の小学生高学年を選択したが、小学生を網羅的に教育するためには学校の協力が不可欠であり、まず久留米市教育委員会と協議し2022年度は8校に赴き心肺蘇生術教育を実施した。講習の指導は当該研究責任者が中心となり医師、看護師や医療系の学生とともにきめの細かい指導ができる体制を構築した。また久留米市消防にも協力を仰ぎ救命士らも講習指導者として参加いただき、地域の取り組みとしての位置付けを明確にした。講習は大阪ライフサポート協会の開発した一人一体のトレーニングキット（あっぱくん）を使用し45分間という授業時間内で胸骨圧迫とAEDの使用に特化した内容とした。アニメーション動画を使い座学と実習を組み合わせて進行することで学童児でも集中力が途切れることなく実施することができた。受講者には講習後にアンケート調査を依頼し、安全確認、傷病者への声かけ、119番通報とAEDの要請、呼吸の確認、胸骨圧迫、AED使用の項 目別に講習の前後で習熟度を4段階で評価してもらいその理解度を評価した。また受講者には1人1枚の受講証を発行し、心肺蘇生術を身に着けたことを可視化し、受講者の自己評価を高めるための一助とするとともに心肺蘇生術の大切さを知ってもらうリーフレットを作成し1人1枚配布した。また大阪ライフサポート協会の指導者講習会を受講させ講習指導者の育成も同時に行い、講習内容の質の担保を実施している。
