本研究は、幼児と保護者が身近な地域環境についての現状を学び・考えることができる幼児科学教育（特に生物・地学領域）のプログラムを開発・実践することを目的とする。これにより、幼児と保護者が地球環境の現状を科学的（時間的・空間的）な視点で捉えることができる科学リテラシーを涵養し、SDGs達成に向けた行動変容につながることを目指す。本年度は、年長児～小学校２年生までの児童を対象とした「水」に関する科学活動を通して、幼児・児童が体験的に「水」の地球規模での循環について考えることができることを目指した。計画書の中では、土地のつくりについてVR体験を通して地域の現状を把握することを方法としていたが、幼児に対してのVR使用の安全性が現在までに確保されていないことから、代替手段として幼児だけでなく小学校１，２年次までの児童との縦割りでの対話と実験の活動を行った。この活動は、2023年1月～3月の期間に計4回の活動として行われた。具体的な内容と成果については、現在論文執筆中であることから、ここでの記載は差し控える。
