人の顔表情は感情や体調などの内的情報を表すため、相手の顔表情を認知することは相手を理解し円滑な社会的コミュニケーションを築く上で重要である。本研究の代表者はこれまで、人の顔表情を認知する際の脳反応と性格特性との相関や、若年成人の乳児顔表情に対する脳反応の保育体験前後の変化を明らかにしてきた。本研究では、脳機能計測により顔上部または下部の表情認知の脳反応を計測して心理特性や性別との相関を調べ、表情認知における顔の部位の影響と、表情認知の個人差に関連する要因を解明することを目的としている。初年度である令和４年度は、実験の準備として刺激素材の作成と実験デザインの構築、そして研究参加者の募集を行った。しかし、令和４年度中は何度か新型コロナウィルスの大規模な流行があったため、研究参加者を学内へ招いての実験の実施は延期せざるを得なかった。そのため、実験は令和５年度中に実施する予定である。
