2022年度は、戦間期イギリスの消費者による協同組合についてグローバルな視点から考察することに取り組んだ。国際協同組合同盟および女性組合員による国際組織とイギリスの協同組合との関わりを二次文献や国内で入手可能な史料を通して考察した。とくに、12月から3月までの4カ月近くにわたりイギリスのエセックス大学にて在外研究を行ったことは大きな成果につながった。現地での史料調査では、ユニヴァーシティ・カレッジ・ロンドンの女性図書館やマンチェスターの協同組合資料館、ハルのヒストリー・センターに赴き、国際協同組合運動に関連した史料や、イギリスの女性組合員および女性の国際組織に関する史料を調査することができた。国際協同組合同盟は、国際的な協同組合間連携に向けて自由貿易を支持していたが、その中心的存在だったのがイギリスであった。イギリス生協は国内においても自由貿易の熱心な支持者であり、この考え方が国際組織においても反映されていた。各国の協同組合の事情や考え方は様々であったものの、戦間期においては国際的な協同組合間連携に向けた議論および実践が試みられていた。各国代表が、様々な意見を表明しながらも、国際連携に向けて試行錯誤していたことを明らかにできたのは今後の研究をすすめるうえで重要な成果である。また、国際連携に向けた過程において、女性たちが大きな役割を果たしていることもわかってきたので、その具体的な実践を今後の研究において示していく。
