2022年度は、修士論文の成果を日本史研究会近現代史部会（5月19日）で口頭発表したのち、多様な解釈を孕みつつ日本社会を貫く基本原理になったとされる昭和戦前・戦時期の日本主義において「日本精神」という流行標語が果たした役割について、政府各省（内務省・文部省・陸軍省）における展開を中心に考察を深めた。具体的には、①多様かつ画一的という日本主義評価の飛躍や、言説の〈合理／非合理〉性に固執する総力戦体制論以降の日本主義研究に対し、同音性を保証しつつそれぞれの“理”で解釈される流行標語の果たした社会的機能を検討する本研究の意義を改めて位置づけた。②「日本精神」の社会的流行の推移について、各機関所蔵の図書題目調査やNDL Ngram Viewerを活用したキーワード頻度測定によって明らかにした。これらの成果は現在投稿論文として準備中である。また、新たな研究課題として、同時期の教育界における「日本精神」流行への組織的対応についても研究を行った。具体的には、①教育界に「日本精神」流行が及ぶ様子について、教育雑誌の特集や年度回顧記事、その他各種教育機関の刊行物を用いて検討した。②神奈川県女子師範学校および同附属小学校における郷土教育の展開と「日本精神」研究の関係性を検討した。③京都府師範学校附属小学校における「日本精神」研究と流行以前の教育方針を比較した。④その他各種学校における対応事例の収集、比較検討を行った。
