本研究はフランス・パリにおける性的マイノリティ、特に難民とクィア女性の空間的実践および経験を「クローゼット空間」と場所構築の観点から検討することを目的とする。2022年度は、フランス・パリにおける現地調査を二度実施し、１）活動団体への調査、２）その他資料の収集、３）地図化作業を行った。１）では、女性の難民に関する詳細な現状を把握するため、パリを拠点にして活動するLGBTI難民、特に女性への支援を目的とする市民活動団体およびネットーワークへの調査を実施した。２）では、これまでにクィア女性によってどのような空間や場所の構築が試みられてきたのかを検討するため、「パリ女性の家」内に設置されている「レズビアン文化研究アーカイブ」の協力を得て、過去に発行された団体による報告書やジン、イベント・デモ行進のパンフレット、ガイドブックなどを用いてパリにおけるクィア女性と空間および移動に関する資料を収集した。３）では、パリの都市空間において性的マイノリティの空間的実践がどのように分布しているのかを検討するため、フィールドワーク調査を実施し、その内容を地図化した。調査から得たデータは３つの議論をする上で欠かせないものであった。１）セクシュアリティの地理学において論じられる「クローゼット・スペース」（Brown, 2000）の議論を参照しつつ、パリにおけるLGBTI難民による「クローゼット空間」の創出と変容を論じること。２）パリのフェミニズム・クィア女性による活動を対象に、クィア女性たちがいかに都市空間において独自の空間や場所を創出しようとしているのかを論じること。３）「セクシュアリティの地理学」の研究動向を、特にフランスの地理学の文脈から論じ、フランス社会における性的マイノリティによる空間・場所について検討すること。2022年度後半からは以上の内容を論文としてまとめる作業に取り掛かった。
