In the past year, we investigated the effect of carboxylic acid on the performances and properties of perovskite nanocrystals. Specifically, we used Malic Acid to synthesize 2.5 nm blue-emitting perovskite nanocubes. We characterized their properties and demonstrated the emission was narrow and highly efficient, yielding promising blue light-emitting diodes. The stability of the material was evaluated and the narrow emission was maintained over a wide range of voltages. We then precisely characterized their structure and determined a precise cluster composition. We demonstrated ligand binding was limited to the corners of the nanocubes and that ligand chirality transfer could lead to polarized dots. We also investigated surface treatment and their modification via ligand replacement.
