研究全体のうち、個別的な課題として取り組まれ、一定の成果をあげたものを記す。1)出来事をある種の変化と見なした場合、変化するところの対象(しばしば「主体subject」と呼ばれる)と当の出来事との概念的関係がどのようなものであるかは、時空間的対象を扱う哲学的理論にとって解明すべき基本的問題である。本科学研究費補助金による研究においてはその問題に関連して、出来事理論や部分全体学の知見を用い、「出来事の主体」という観念そのものを批判的に検討した。その結果、一階の述語理論においてより整合的に出来事を記述する仕方を示すことができた。この研究結果は、時空間的対象を扱う哲学的理論の構築の可能性を探るという当初の研究プログラムにとり、きわめて有意義なものであった。この研究の成果は、平成9年中に勁草書房より刊行予定の自著『行為と出来事の存在論』の第4章に反映される。2)また、収集した資料をもとに、過去の出来事の実在性に関する形而上学的問題についての論争史的研究に着手することができた。この個別的課題は、本科学研究費補助金による研究全体の中で、時間概念の哲学的分析という基盤部分に属している。暫定的な成果は、平成9年3月に立命館大学で開かれた第8回西洋哲学史研究会において、「相対主義と『現在の視点』」という標題で口頭発表した。さらに、この研究の発展的な成果は、平成9年度刊行予定の学内誌に論文として公表予定である。本補助金により購入した設備備品は、上記の研究における資料の収集管理および諸原稿の作成にとり、不可欠であった。
