帝制期ロシアの教育システム、とりわけ貴族・官吏などのエリートの再生産に関与した中等・高等教育機関は、身分制原理によって編成された社会全体のあり方を反映して、身分的に階層化された複雑な編成を特質とした。そのなかで上流貴族・高級官吏の養成・再生産を担ったのは陸軍幼年学校等の軍関連教育機関、リツェイ、法律学校などであった。本研究ではこれらのうち、主として文官養成に当たったリツェイと帝室法学校を取り上げて制度史的概要を明らかにしつつ、両校が果たした社会的機能を身分制や官僚制、支配エリートのエ-トス、ならびに社会の近代化過程でのそれらの変容といった諸点と関連づけて解明することを目的としたものである。今年度の研究を通じて、まず、アレクサンドル・リツェイおよび帝室法学校が帝制期ロシアの中等・高等教育システム全般のなかで占めた位置を、「教育の身分制原理」およびそれを法制上担保する「教育行政の多元性」という視点から解明することができた。その際に、国民教育省管下のギムナジア・大学との対比により、ロシアのエリート養成においてこれら正系の教育機関よりも特権的エリート教育機関の役割が著しく大きかったことも明らかになった。加えて、両校卒業者の国家勤務上の優位を大臣や国家評議会議員、セナ-ト評定員らの教育歴を明らかにするなかで数量的に提示することができた。さらに、1860年代の「大改革」以降、国民教育省管下教育機関の比重が増すなかで、国家エリート養成における両校の位置の低減が進行し、国家編成における貴族官僚制からより開放的なそれへの移行が進展しつつあったことも明らかとなった。ただし、研究実施計画で予定していたエリートの盛時文化やエ-トスの形成に関わるこれら教育機関の独自の意義については、回想録等の収集を終えて検討を開始するにとどまり、今後の課題として残されている。
