現在の統計学における中心的な手法は，統計的仮説検定である．近年，心理学や医学分野を中心に統計的仮説検定への疑問が投げかけられ，そこでの中心的概念となるp値の使用禁止まで明言する論文誌が現れるまでに至っている．一方で経済学では，このような動きへの反応は比較的遅かったといえるが，著名な国際誌で特集が組まれるなど，注目が高まっている．そこで本研究では，Neyman-Pearson流の統計的仮説検定の限界と補完・代替可能性について検討し，将来への道筋を立てることを試みる．具体的には，[I] 小標本における統計的仮説検定の限界と補完・代替可能性の検討，[II] ビッグデータにおける統計的仮説検定の限界と補完・代替可能性の検討を目的に研究に取り組む．
