项目摘要

本研究は、展示映像および提示空間に関する資料廃棄・散逸を防ぎ、、後年の研究資料、映像遺産として残すために、コンテンツ（フィルム＆デジタル、音声）、空間デザインなどを総合的にアーカイブし、失われた空間をCG等で復元し、映像素材と融合させ、当時の提示空間そのものを「再現」することを目的としている。令和4年度は、再現する提示空間に用いられていたフィルムやテープといった、当時実際に使用されていたアナログ素材を中心にデジタル化するための作業を中心に行った。まずは『鉄と稲』つくば科学万博(1985)歴史館（パビリオン）上映作品におけるスライド原版ならびに上映プリントのデジタル化を行った。当該パビリオンにおけるスライドは、80を超える多面スクリーンに、合計1000枚程度のスライド投影を行っていた。また汎用の35ｍｍスライドだけでなく、40ｍｍスクエアの127スライドも用いられ、さらにマスキングやグラデーションを施すための2枚重ねのスライドもあることが判明した。さらに2枚重ねスライドが密着し剥離が不能な状態を確認したり、スライドマウントのガラス版の汚れをクリーニングするなど、スキャン以前に保存状態を確認、可能な限りクリアにする必要があった。スキャンに関しても、127サイズのマウントをスキャンするためのホルダを制作するなど行った。展示館関連のスライドのデジタルアーカイブに関する研究はないため、かなりの作業時間は要してしまったが、こうした事前調査やスキャンに関する技法を検証、確認することは本研究において重要な要素である。進行状況としては、『鉄と稲』は600枚程度のスキャンを終了している。また同時に大牟田市石炭産業科学館における3面マルチ投影のスライド650枚程度すべてをスキャン完了した。提示に関しては、福岡市科学館の学芸員とドーム投影を行うための詳細について検討中である。
