本研究では熊本県を対象に，実感している気候変動の影響や取り組んでいる適応策などの県民の意識を概観するとともに，熊本県の地域性を明らかにすることと，県内地域において取り組まれている適応策やその導入経緯，普及・阻害要因など適応策の実施状況を構造的に把握することを目的としている．2022年度は主に下記の項目を実施した．１．オンライン質問紙調査の調査項目の検討：熊本県を対象に2023年度実施予定の調査の質問項目を検討するために，2021年に実施した郵送による質問紙調査の結果の分析をおこなった．その結果，全国調査と比較した際の熊本県民の特徴は，気候変動への知識・関心・リスク認知が高い人が多く，対策行動の実施率が高い点であることが示唆された．２．ヒアリング調査：地域で実施されている適応策を把握するために，芦北町を対象としてヒアリング調査を実施した．農業や林業，水産業，畜産業，観光業など，同町の主要産業に携わる主要なキーパーソンと，行政関連部局の合計16件についてヒアリング調査を実施した．その結果，気温の上昇や豪雨災害の発生，病害虫による被害・獣害の増加などの影響を同町のキーパーソンらが実感していることや，気温の上昇に伴い作業工程の増加や作業時間の変化，設備の追加など実施されている適応策を把握することができた．加えて，地域内循環の仕組みの必要性や他業種間での連携・目標の共有など，今後必要な取り組みについても情報を収集することができた．
