この研究の目的は、国際的なパーム油とカカオという商品作物へ転換してきた2つのインドネシアの農民社会を事例に、COVID-19という世界的な感染症流行が、グローバルな食料生産システムに組み込まれている地域住民にどのように影響し、また、彼ら、彼女がどのように対応しているかを明らかにすることである。2022年度は6月に開催されたオーストラリアアジア学会(Biennial Association of Asian Studies Australia)において、「インドネシアのアブラヤシ生産農家へのグローバルな食料危機の影響：西スマトラ州の事例から」と題し、共同研究者であるアンダラス大学法学部教授のクルニア・ワルマン教授とともに発表を行った。この発表に先立ち、アガム県のアブラヤシ生産農家に対し、パーム油価格の乱高下が生活にどのような影響を与えているかに関して調査票を作成のうえ、西スマトラ州の協力者に依頼し45名の農民から聞き取りを行った。聞き取りによると、2019年からヨーロッパによるパーム油ボイコットとCOVID-19による生産網の混乱はパーム油価格の低下を招き、住民の現金収入は落ち込んだ。その後、インドネシア政府のバイオ燃料政策とウクライナ戦争により食用油価格が上昇したが、インドネシア政府が国内の食用油価格安定のため輸出禁止措置をとったことから、価格は下落し、住民の生活に大きな影響を与えていることが分かった。

The purpose of this study is to provide an example of the international market economy and the changing of commodity crops and the development of a rural society. COVID-19 and the global epidemic of infectious diseases, food production systems and groups affect the local population. In June 2022, the Biennial Association of Asian Studies Australia held a seminar on the topic "Impact of food crisis on agricultural production: cases in western states" and co-researcher Professor of Law Department of Asian Studies University. The development of this project is based on the research of 45 farmers who have been working together in the West and China. In 2019, the production network was chaotic, the oil price was low, and the cash income of the residents was low. The government's fuel policy and competition for cooking oil prices have increased, and the government's export ban measures for cooking oil prices in China have decreased, affecting the lives of the people.
