项目摘要

初年度はもともと現地調査を予定せず、次年度以降の現地調査の準備期間としていた。現地の著名な演劇人による自伝や、近年の上演作品の脚本数本に目を通した。また、当初調査対象候補としていたイスラエル領内のアラブ地域の文化団体に関して近年の活動状況（上演状況や広報活動、関係者らのインタビューや発信内容など）を調べ、研究調査対象としての妥当性を検討した。その過程では、ハイファの「アラブ文化協会」の関係者とオンラインで打ち合わせを行ったほか、同協会および「モサーワー・センター」主催のオンラインシンポジウムにも参加する機会を得た。その過程で、2015年からイスラエル政府の助成金不交付が決まったミーダーン劇場が、2022年中に最終的に閉鎖されたことが確認できたほか、助言を得てきた現地インフォーマントの身辺事情等の理由から、当初予定したように演劇団体を中心とした調査は難しいことが判明した。演劇団体では、「公的資金が投入され、イスラエル政府の関与が強い文化団体」のカテゴリーとしてヤーファの「サラーヤー劇団」、「政府や既成基金と距離をおく自立志向型文化団体」として「ハシャビー劇場」を調査することになるが、演劇だけでなくパフォーマンスアートを中心にさまざまな活動を行っている機関を対象とする方向で軌道修正を検討中である。「外国政府や国外の基金の助成に依拠し、イスラエル政府の関与の低い文化団体」は、当初ラインナップした団体を訪問する目途がついた。
