児童・生徒の持久走に対する否定的な意識を軽減するために、多くの体育授 業研究やランニング方法に関する研究が報告されているが、依然として持久走嫌いは少なくない。しかし、我々のこれまでの研究で、体育授業での持久走よりも校内マラソン大会が、 持久走嫌いに影響を与えている結果を得た。そこで、本研究では、校内マラソン大会を目標とした持久走及び長距離走の体育・保健体育授業の課題を検証し、新たな授業と校内マラソン大会を提案することを目的としている。以上のような研究を実施した成果をもとに、最終的には児童の持久走嫌いの減少と体力向上に貢献すること目指している。令和４年度は、これまでに我々が研究してきた内容をまとめることを優先した。また、その過程において先行研究の整理と研究準備に想定より時間を要したが、多くの資料収集ができ、本研究の課題がより明確となった。具体的には、これまでの児童・生徒の「持久走嫌い」に対する研究は、ランニングペース(運動強度)の調整、競争的な意識の軽減、個人の能力に合わせた距離等、様々な方法により多くの授業実践が提案され一定の効果をあげてきたが、校内マラソン大会についての言及は少なく、 校内マラソン大会に繋がる体育授業のあり方については明らかにされていないことや、個々の授業 実践の改善や提案は重要であるが、授業以外の体育的行事との関連や、成人以降の市民マラソンの魅力と関連づけた検討は少ないことが明らかとなった。一方、コロナ禍が長引き教育現場での予備調査が実施できなかった。
