アルコール依存症の治療や回復は断酒や減酒し続けることを前提として前進する。しかし、酒を飲んでも飲まなくても感情的な問題を抱えるアルコール依存症者は、単に減酒や断酒しただけでは依存症の問題は解決しない。アルコール依存症者が断酒を継続し新たな生活習慣を構築するには想像以上の困難があり、援助にあたる看護職にとっても否定的感情を惹起しやすく、援助しづらい状況となりがちである。そこで2021年度までの研究においては、アルコール依存症者に特有な感情面の問題を調査し、当事者が感情面の問題を解決する能力を育成するための、アルコール依存症者の感情活用能力育成プログラムの開発を検討してきた。ところが前年度までの研究遂行過程において新型コロナウイルスの世界的流行が起こり多くの人々の生活様態が変化し続け、本年においてもなお感染状況のみならず世界の経済社会的混乱は続いている。アルコールの摂取状況や依存症からの回復には人々の生活の背景となる社会的状況の影響を受けやすいであろう。今後の研究課程においても状況に応じたプログラムの形への変更は常に視野に入れておく必要がある。本研究においては新型コロナウイルス感染症流行下や社会状況の変化の中でも施行可能な形式のプログラムとはどのようなものかを勘案し、前年度までの研究成果をふまえて今後も実行可能なプログラムに改編する。作成したプログラムの有効性を検討することを目的とした。（感情活用能力emotional literacyとは、自分自身や周囲の人々の感情を把握し、適切に扱う能力を意味する概念である。）
