项目摘要

To promote a fundamental study of combustion safety on ignition and flame propagation in combustible mixtures, the academic exchange was done between the University of Tokyo and Warsaw University of Technology. The study was made by exchanging the knowledge and technology of the participant researchers during visiting each other. Visits of 4 researchers have been supported by this Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research.The exchange of knowledge and technology was mainly focused on the combustion mechanisms of combustible particle clouds. A lot of data concerning this study were provided from the participant researchers of both universities.From the University of Tokyo : Data on the propagating mechanism and structure of the flame propagating through combustible particle clouds (Stearic acid, 1-Octadecanol, Metal particle).From Warsaw University of Technology : Data on ignition phenomena and structure of the flame propagating through combustible particle clouds (mainly 1-Octadecanol).As a result, the following points were elucidated.- The structure of a flame propagation through combustible particle (Flame structure, Thickness of preheat zone, Thickness of reaction zone)- The propagating mechanism of a flame propagation through combustible particle clouds (Mechanism of heat transfer, Flame propagating velocity)From these results, it is known that the thickness of such kind of heterogeneous flame propagating through combustible particle clouds is much thicker than that of the flame propagating through homogeneous combustible premixed mixture, and the propagating velocity of the heterogeneous flame becomes much slower. This kind of knowledge is very important to properly understand the combustion phenomena in a heterogeneous system. This program could promote the study of heterogeneous combustion and also academic exchange between Japan and Poland.
