A Study on The Generation of Aleatory Forms for Design Education

Theis research project has been done for the generation of aleatory forms. An aleatory form is one which is generated by decisions depending on chance. The basic idea of the generation method is s follows : a form has emergence factors, and each factor has detemining and selecting processes. If we introduce random decisions in the processes on the series of time, then an infinite combination among factors is happened, has thus the resultants are unperdictable and thousands of variations in a from (or pattern) can be obtained. As a consequence the method is applicable to the modeling/simulation of various unpredictable visual environment. In this project, we first discuss the mathematical definition for the emergence factors of an aleatory from, and we introduce a novel method based on the definition. Then the application of the method to he generation of forms by usuing cellular automata is presented. Following this, computing programs for the generation of aleatroy forms are developed and applied to the texture form generation. And finally, we apply the generated forms to the arts and visual design works.
