本研究では、具体的に以下の5点について解明せんとするものである。（1）牟宗三は儒教文献をどのように解釈することで中国思想の中に「道徳的形而上学」（道徳をベースとした形而上学）、すなわち道徳即宗教という「道徳的宗教」の存在及びその歴史的な流れ（道統）を見出していったのか、（2）牟宗三は、宋明思想の文献をどのように解釈・整理することで、宋明思想を三系統に分け、程頤・朱熹の系統を支流とする斬新な学説を導き出していったのか、（3）牟宗三は宋明思想における「理」をどのように分析、解釈しているのか、（4）牟宗三の思想・立場と他の新儒家（梁漱溟、熊十力、唐君毅、徐復観など）の思想・立場にはどのような異同があるのか、（5）牟宗三の構築した儒教哲学にはどのような現代的な意味、可能性があるのか。第2年度は、『牟宗三全集』全32巻など、第1年度に購入・収集した関連資料に基づき、上記の（3）の問題について研究を進めた。特に牟宗三が朱子の道徳説をどのように捉えているのか、牟宗三による朱子『孟子』解釈批判を通して、その理解の特質と妥当性について検証を行った。その研究成果の一部は、台湾及び中国の学会で発表し、「朱子心性論的建構与対《孟子》的詮釈」（『中国心学』第2輯、商務印書館、2022年8月、pp.91-112）、「朱子的《孟子》詮釋與心性論的建構」（李威熊主編『第十二屆中國經學國際學術研討會論文選集』、萬巻樓、2023年3月、pp.303-327）に掲載されている。

This research has the following five specific points to explain why. (1) Mou Zongsan's "Metaphysics of Tao and Virtue" in the Thought of China (2) Mou Zongsan and the literature of Song and Ming Dynasty thought were explained and sorted out. The three systems of Song and Ming Dynasty thought were divided into three parts. Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi's system were divided into branches.(3) Mou Zongsan's thought of Song and Ming Dynasties is analyzed and explained;(4) Mou Zongsan's thought and position are different from those of his Neo-Confucianism (Liang Shuming, Xiong Shili, Tang Junyi, Xu Fuyi);(5) Mou Zongsan's construction of Confucian philosophy is different from modern meaning and possibility. In the 2nd year, all 32 records of "Mou Zongsan Complete Works" were collected, and in the 1st year, the related data were collected, and the problems mentioned in (3) were studied. In particular, Mou Zongsan's theory of Zhu Zi's Tao and virtue is not only in the middle of the discussion, but also in the middle of the discussion. Mou Zongsan's criticism of Zhu Zi's "Mencius" is in the middle of the discussion. One part of the research results of Zhu Xi's theory of human nature and his interpretation of Mencius was published in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Taiwan and China.("China Mind Studies," vol. 2, Commercial Press, August 2022, pp. 91 -112),"Zhu Zi's Interpretation of Mencius and the Construction of Mind Theory"(edited by Li Weixiong,"Collection of Papers of the 12th International Symposium on China Classics," Wan Jielou, March 2023, pp. 303 -327).
