本研究は、様々な情報精度を持つ個人からなる集団（コミッティ）が、不確実性が存在する状況において集団的意思決定を行うとき、投票者の人数や決定手続きの違いによって、集団的意思決定の効率性がどのように異なるかを、投票行動のベイジアンゲームの均衡分析により理論的に明らかにしようとするものである。平成26年度の主要な成果は、次の2つである。（１）コミッティを構成する各個人の情報精度の事前分布が連続であるモデルで、多数決によるコミッティの決定の効率性が投票者の数にどのように依存するかを研究した。主な結果は、[1]コミッティのサイズが小さい場合は、コミッティのサイズが大きくなったとしても決定の効率性が改善しないことがある、[2]コミッティのサイズが十分大きい場合は、コミッティのサイズが大きくなると決定の効率性は単調に改善していく、という2つである。この成果を国際学会Society for Social Choice and Welfareの第12回大会（米国ボストン、2014年6月）で発表した。（２）各個人の情報精度の可能性が高い場合と低い場合の2種類しかないという離散分布のモデルを用いて、コミッティを構成するメンバー全員による多数決投票によって決定を行う場合と、コミッティを構成するメンバーの中から1人をランダムに選出して彼に決定を委ねる場合という、異なる2つの決定手続きのもとでのコミッティの決定の効率性の比較を行った。そして、情報精度の事前分布の形状と情報精度のあり方が一定の条件を満たすとき、メンバー全員による投票で決定を行うよりも、1人にコミッティの決定を委ねた方が、より効率的な決定を行うことができることを示した。現在、この成果を論文にまとめ発表する準備を進めている。
