Trueview is an advanced software product that enables bone health diagnoses to be made using standard X-ray scans, rather than the specialised DXA scans currently required.The technology has been shown to provide accurate diagnosis of osteoporosis on forearm X-rays and this project will further develop the technology to allow it to be used on a wider range of body parts that can be assessed to provide a bone health diagnosis including ankle, pelvis, femur and humerus.The project will assess the performance of these developments in a human clinical study at the University of Exeter, with the final outputs supporting regulatory certification and ongoing commercialisation and adoption activities.A successful project will facilitate roll-out and adoption of a product that will have a significant impact on osteoporosis treatment waiting times and will reduce the numbers of fragility fractures incurred, along with their associated health and social care costs.
