Proof of concept: Development, testing and implementation of a collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm to drive engagement with art and culture events

La Fomo is a subscription app for curated and personalised art and culture event recommendations. We uncover venues our users would not have heard of otherwise with a focus on alternative and thought-provoking shows. We combine hand-picked curation with a personalisation algorithm to make the most pertinent recommendations to our users.The scope of this project is to develop, test and implement our recommendation algorithm. Our objective is to demonstrate that hyper-personalised recommendations can drive higher conversion to ticket purchasing and lead to greater users' satisfaction. Such tools have been used in the entertainment event industry with more mainstream events and larger venues, but is yet to benefit smaller art and culture venues which do not have the resources to invest in expensive digital technologies.
