英文摘要
Traditional folklores are an integral part of BAME culture which offers a valuable means of collective identity as well as a way to preserve cultural heritage across generations. There has been growing concern regarding the loss of cultural identity among BAME communities living in the diaspora, particularly among children. This means that the younger generation is often disconnected from the cultural richness and moral values embedded in traditional storytelling, which can lead to a sense of dislocation and alienation. This project offers a unique opportunity to use emerging technologies to transform traditional BAME folklores into interactive digital storytelling and user-generated content that can reconnect children to their cultural heritage in a meaningful and creative way. The project would allow children to create unique profiles for themselves and family members and immerse themselves into the storytelling community to spark a sense of engagement and inclusion. These digital experiences would help to preserve and celebrate cultural diversity, promote intercultural dialogue, and enhance social cohesion. The project team will identify and curate a range of traditional folklores from different BAME cultures, and transform them into digital formats using interactive media to make them more accessible and engaging to children.
