To develop a novel ultrasonic instrument that enables real-time monitoring of cat-fine content in marine fuel. This tool will allow crews to better select fuels during bunkering and stop pumping contaminated fuels on board resulting in reduced risk of engine breakdown and the need for less purification, increasing fuel efficiency.
