This activity establishes the EIT Food Learning Services in the public domain as the formalisation of the former Professional Education Framework and associated Professional Education Assessment. Built upon ongoing comprehensive market analysis and industry consultation, the EIT Food Learning Services establishes itself as an internationally recognised standard in professional education delivered by innovative methodologies through the accreditation of education delivery and leading to independent certification of learner achievement.It is the only training accreditation, with its associated, independent certification organisation (EIT Food Assessment) to address geographical and sector constraints through its partner network.Industry needs emphasise the importance of education/industry collaboration to develop training provider recognition which is robust, straightforward, not an administrative burden yet grounded in educational quality and rigour as evidenced by accredited provider status.Underpinned by the EIT Food Competency Framework, and carrying the EIT Label for non-degree education, it will address the lack of a pan-EU accreditation scheme for delivery of quality assured professional education to stimulate and facilitate fast, mutual transfer of knowledge out of local best practice.This vision for training excellences across the sector will be realised by the implementation of EIT Food Learning Services’ rigorous, quality management system, overseen and approved by independent experts, for the accreditation of professional education, delivered by partners and 3rd party organisations. This accreditation of training will guarantee that every programme and course carrying the EIT Label for non-degree education and training meets a genuine, sector-evidenced need for competencies development whose content and delivery ensure educational quality and rigour.Assessment certification (in line with ISO 17024 guidelines) attached to that learning provides an independent gauge for the quality of that education and an official mechanism for recognition of the investment that learners and their companies have made in their development resulting in a better educated cohort of European in-work food professionals to enable transformation of the sector.The independence and quality management of the accreditation processes and identification of sector requirements to meet a genuine market need for enhanced food system specific competencies, leadership, communication, and entrepreneurship aimed specifically at individuals aspiring to the most senior roles, will be guaranteed through the use of a Learning and Assessment Advisory Board, drawn from across the sector, representing industry experts, educators, SMEs, and research institutes.
