This project will deliver to UK a disruptive technology in the field of surface finishing. At the heart of the project is thermally treated recycled glass previously targeted for landfill. It will establish in the UK the only manufacturer of vibratory abrasives in this field. The innovative patented process possesses strong environmental credentials and will provide substantial economic benefit to consumers in the high-value sectors including aerospace, automotive and biomedical. Significant social benefit will be secured through the creation of permanent jobs and improved working conditions.
