Procurement, construction and commissioning of a Blade Rain Erosion Test Rig at ORE Catapult’s Blyth facility. The test rig will be used for fundamental research into blade rain erosion to improve understanding on this phenomenon and increase the accuracy and repeatability of the test method. This knowledge and testing capability will be used to support development, testing and validation of new protective coatings and materials for blades, as well as developing much needed industry standards for erosion testing
