The project will examine the patentability,potential market and estimated manufacturing costsof an innovative system device that can be installed on certain types of piston enginedhelicopters and prevent an engine overspeed during the start procedure.The system device isnot available at present and will prevent an engine overspeed which results in an expensivemaintenance procedure at best,and at worst, early and unexpected engine failure withpotentially catastrophic consequences for the helicopter and it's occupants.
