Teachmania is a start-up located in Cambridge. Our idea is to create an automatic process forthe effective collection of Internet based Educational Resources (ERs), corresponding to acertain section in a study program and supporting certain learning objectives. We call thisprocess “the Channel”. The Channel will embody intelligent search and parsing technologyand will have huge applicability, especially as the education market moves into increasedutilization of computers and the Internet. For example, it could be integrated in VirtualLearning Environments, which are computer applications used as a virtual study rooms(VLEs). In VLEs, it could serve as a quick and efficient way for teachers to find the mostrelevant ERs (Educational Resources) to prepare their lessons, or help students find additionalexercises or background to improve their success in class.
