项目摘要

Many injuries require assessment and subsequent physiotherapy exercises to aid recovery. Successful recovery relies on patients adhering to the prescribed exercises and the correct intensities. Therefore, regular contact with clinicians is required, so they can assess recovery and check on exercise adherence. However, limited resources often mean long-periods between face-face consultations. The recent pandemic has further led to a rapid switch to remote consultations, with the physiotherapist having to assess the patient using video links. In this secondment the technical and research expertise of the secondee in the area of movement analysis will be combined with the host organisation's expertise on developing artificial intelligence platforms for physiotherapy triaging. Using this expertise, the secondment will focus on developing intelligent video-based tools that will measure movements of patients undergoing physiotherapy exercises and support the clinician to complete assessments remotely.
