This practice-as-research (PAR) enquiry proposes to investigate the practice ofcommunity dance as a type of 'curatorial practice' and the role of the communitydance artist as an 'artist-curator'. This rethinking aligns with the phenomenon ofdance in museums and galleries, harnessing new knowledge emerging from thesepractices and debates about: the dancing body; participation, presentation andspectatorship; and documenting, archiving and preserving ephemeral art.
