Composition and Entailment in Distributed Word Representations

This project will explore the interaction between composition and lexical entailment in distributed word representations. The primary research question is how to employ compositional techniques to the automatic differentiation of lexical entailment relations. A secondary research question is how improved identification of lexical entailment relations might be used to improve compositional techniques. The student will devise, test and extend an algorithm for the detection of lexical entailment relations between nouns based on composition with adjectives.
