英文摘要
My creative project will consist of a full-length first collection of poetry and innovative critical research. The poems will focus on the second-generation British-Chinese immigrant experience, an area which, I believe, has not previously been explored in contemporary British poetry, and will engage with the Asian-American poetic experience of diaspora, exile and migration. My creative work will engage with theoretical and poetic considerations of language and otherness, the problematics of cultural and racial identity as well as their enriching possibilities. I will explore poetic narratives of British-Chinese experience, particularly with particular reference to Liverpool's maritime history as a port and a city with the oldest Chinatown in Europe.
