The PhD will be undertaken during a period of significant change for farmers across the UK. The Agriculture Bill 2018 will alter the current systems of financial support and includes clear plans to reward farmers for pro-environmental behaviour such as improving air and water quality (UK Government, 2018). Undertaking research at this time is therefore a prime opportunity to understand the place and influence of collaborative agri-environmental schemes (AES) in this new policy and the post-Brexit agricultural landscape.
