The Educational Component's purpose will be to ensure that Center Participants, other Cooperative Centers for Translational Research, and the Scientific Community at large stay abreast of innovation by providing access to the technologies being developed through the Center, generating information pertaining to the research being performed within the Center, as well as informing of advancements and discoveries happening in the fields of Biodefense and Human Immunology. The component will function to: 1) educate Center participants about topics and issues related to Biodefense and Human Immunology as well as about the work being performed within the Center and its relevance or impact on Biodefense initiatives and Human Immunology; 2) provide information to the Scientific Community about the Center's work and topics or issues regarding Biodefense and Human Immunology; 3) offer training opportunities to interested parties pertaining to the Center's technological development; and 4) promote the free exchange of scientific information between Cooperative Centers and the Scientific Community. Methodologies for achieving the component's stated functions include: a Symposium Day, a Seminar Series, a Training Program, and a website.
