The nature nurse: the practices of eco-therapy, wilder interactions and wellbeing

The project responds to the popular endorsement that being in nature is beneficial for well-being through examining different practices of eco-therapy (Lord and Coffey, 2019). This therapeutic approach incorporates an extensive variety of treatment programmes, often developed and promoted as a form of self-care, each concerned with improving mental and physical wellbeing through doing out-of-doors activities in nature (Orr et al, 2010). The purpose of this project is to discover not whether being in nature is beneficial but how people narrate their encounters with eco-therapy practices according to the spatial and temporal dynamics of their practice.
