英文摘要
This research will compare Cognitive Remediation Therapy(CRT) to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for earlyinterventions in bipolar disorder. CRT is a form of therapythat involves computer tasks aided by a trainedpsychologist. The aim is to improve strategies used byclients when approaching cognitive tasks. For example, clients are trained to have a better grasp of how much timea task will take and adjust how they approach itaccordingly. The skills developed have been shown toimprove neurocognitive functioning and the strategies usedcan be transferred to real life tasks. Research to date onCRT for bipolar has been shown to be positive. The currentmain treatment for bipolar disorder is CBT. CBT is a form oftherapy which involves discussing thoughts, behaviours, feelings and physiological sensations with a psychologist inorder to improve their understanding of themselves, howthey react to events and their feelings. Research has shownthat CBT isn't particularly beneficial to people with bipolardisorder. This proposed study aims to see how CRTcompares to CBT and the possible implications this mayhave for future early interventions in bipolar disorder.
