This project will investigate the impact of cross-curricular learning outside the classroom on the confidence, curiosity and cognitive skills of school pupils. Using the work undertaken by the Devonshire Educational Trust (DET), this project will consider the role that heritage sites can play in bridging current educational gaps relating to academic attainment and aspiration. Through the piloting of a new learning scheme at Chatsworth, this project will then address how country estates can be used as alternative learning spaces by offering recommendations to other heritage sites and devising a model of good practice.
