The final output of this project will be a portfolio of works, appropriately documented and accompanied by an analytical commentary. This will present a methodology for theatre companies and other businesses to expand their own perceptions of how a composer in residence can dramatically affect their business. My thesis would also benefit artists by suggesting alternative approaches to working in residency schemes. In summary, my thesis would demonstrate the process of deeply and dynamically affecting thinking from within a business. In the future, composers will be able to relate to my output as a base model - particularly for long-term placements.This project would catalyse my context-based practice, developing it further within a creatively rich and academically supported environment.Stan's Cafe explores interdisciplinary work from a theatre perspective, whereas I take a musical approach. This exchange of perspectives has the potential to enrich both of our creative practices.
