英文摘要
Rapid advances in technology now enable us to leverage genomic data, based on polygenic risk scores (PRS), alongside traditional risk indices, to develop more 'precise' approaches to addressing malnutrition across life-course. It is expected that such 'precision public health' (PPH) initiatives will radically transform current population-based nutritional approaches, by moving towards a more "individualised" diagnosis and treatment. It is believed that PPH approaches will lead to major cuts in healthcare costs as "people" can and will make preventive lifestyle changes (PMID: 31362796).
