Nuclear Fusion faces many technical challenges to reach the technical readiness required for commercial operation. Computational modelling of fusion systems will be essential to overcome some of the technical challenges currently faced. Radiation transport is one of the problems which is more challenging to solve with current computational techniques. This PhD project will focus on new computational methods and techniques for radiation transport through fusion systems. Also, the project will explore how these simulations could be linked through a multi-physics interface with other models which are important in fusion systems, for example, thermal-mechanical models.
